Frequently Asked Questions

What on earth is ‘coaching’!?

Coaching with me is a mixture of training, mentoring and guidance.  We discuss where you are stuck, what outcomes you are aiming for and then identify solutions to achieve those outcomes.

I use a mixture of classic coaching (ie asking you questions to help you find solutions) and sharing ‘hints and tips’ from my trainer’s toolkit. This means you leave coaching sessions with positive actions to work on.

Why might 1:1 coaching be better than attending a training course or reading a book?

Where 1:1 work can win over the other methods is you get the chance to really explore the issue which is important to you and find solutions for YOU—not the other 9 delegates in the room!

And, unlike many books, you don’t have to read through pages and pages of other people’s stories before you find an action you could take.

What could I expect to achieve?

This will depend upon what challenges and questions you come to coaching with.  However, it’s important to recognise that if you choose to do nothing different as a result of your sessions, it’s unlikely you will see any changes.  There are no magic wands.

The following are examples of issues people have found solutions to through coaching:

R Managing time better and getting organised

R Handling difficult conversations

R Getting clarity for making decisions

R Building confidence in a variety of situations

I really am stuck and don’t know what to do, will you give me some hints and tips?

If I have some knowledge and information which I believe will help you to think things through and come up with solutions and an action plan, then I will offer them to you.  If it’s appropriate, I will offer suggestions of actions—and perhaps ’homework’ as well.  We will agree at the end of each session what actions you are going to take.

How much coaching might I need?

This depends.  In most cases 3 sessions over a few months is a great kick-start.  I do offer ’one off’ sessions, however, these are really only suitable as a ’top up’ for those who have already had coaching with me.

Where do coaching sessions take place?

Phone sessions are from the comfort of your own home.

Face to face sessions are in South Oxfordshire.  (Sessions in London can be arranged but incur an additional fee of £25.)

What financial commitment do I need to make?

Your initial phone discussion is free.

New client packages are a minimum of 3 sessions, either by telephone or face to face; ie £105— approx 132 Euros/US$210 (telephone), £255  face to face. (Or see sample packages by clicking here)

‘One off’ follow on sessions, are priced as follows:

Telephone session: £35 (approx 44 Euros/US$70) for 45 minutes and £65 (approx 81 Euros/US$129) for 75 minutes.

Face to face coaching sessions: £85 for 1 hour and a quarter (75 minutes) session.

Please note: all the fees listed here are applicable to private individuals and sole-traders. Corporate clients, 5+ employees, contact me for the fees list.

How do I pay?

I accept payment by cash or cheque.  If you wish to pay by credit card, I can arrange for this through PayPal.
